Clinical Drug Studies

Gayle Merhar has been with Arthritis and Rheumatology since 2002 when she was hired as an RN for our infusion department. Other positions she has held within the clinic include float nurse, telephone triage and patient education. Over the past 2 years she has been involved in clinical drug trials offering another option for patient care.

Gayle attended Mankato State University and St Catherine's University, Minneapolis campus for nursing. She lives in New Prague with her husband and dog. She has three young adult children who, at least part-time, live away from home. She enjoys gardening, cooking, camping and hopes to write a novel one-day.

Past nursing experience includes: Home Health Care, Hospital Oncology and Outpatient Chemotherapy administration.

She is a member of ACRP Association of Research Professionals and is certified in chemotherapy and biologic administration.

Arthritis and Rheumatology Consultants participates in clinical drug studies that correlate with the conditions that are treated in our clinic.

Trials are viewed as an opportunity for patients to participate in the research and the development of new treatments.

Participants are provided with all study- related medications and treatments including labs and office visits at no charge.
